Four Pillars

What is Four Pillars of Destiny?

Four Pillars of Destiny is a study to map the energy of a person, based on date and time of birth. According to Chinese metapysics study, a human body is a microcosm of the universe. Simply said, our body is like a miniature of a garden. We have different elements in it such as sunlight, water, wood, minerals and earth. In order to cultivate it, we have to ensure that all elements in it are balanced and in harmony. Example of how it looks like:

Four Pillars are erected based on the year, month, day and time of birth. Each pillar contains two characters, therefore we have eight characters in total. This method is also known as Ba Zi or Eight Characters in Chinese. By analysing these eight components you will know what kind of energy you have in your body, is it dry or wet, hot or cold, active or passive, and so on. A Four Pillars analysis will find out what elements you have in excess and what elements you need to add in order to achieve a balanced composition.

What can you derive from Four Pillars?

1. Your energy compatibility with your dwelling.

Knowing your own energy type is very important in a Feng Shui analysis, because a matching energy with your house and office will further enhance the benefit you are getting. A lot of people miss this step in a feng shui analysis and thus wondering why Feng Shui seems to work for everybody else but themselves!

2. Knowing when to act and when to take it easy

Just like the flow of the season, our energy fluctuates with time. Each person has a unique pattern of energy cycle and this is makes the pattern of ups and downs in your life. Understanding your own body rhythm will help you to achieve more in life with proper timing and strategy.

3. Career and wealth: knowing your best field of endeavour

Similar to those personality tests people do in psychology of human resource, Four Pillars analysis can give you comprehensive insight of what type of career is suitable for you based on your element composition, as well as your chance of getting into that industry. Four Pillars analysis can also help you in investing, for example whether it is better to invest in property or shares, as well as the timing to do so.

4. Relationship: compatibility of a couple

Those days of matchmaking have long gone, but it does not hurt to understand your partner’s personality and energy pattern to aid in the relationship harmony. If your partner is a ‘weak water’ and you are a ’strong fire’, do not be surprised if he always ‘disappears’ while you are ‘explosive’ like firecrackers when you have arguments. Knowing yourself and your partner’s energy map will help make your life easier by understanding each other’s behaviour more.
